How It Works

1. Preparation

  • Confirm the issue is with the ESL module. Similar symptoms can also be caused by faulty keys, ignition switches, or relay modules.

  • If the steering lock is currently engaged, the ESL must be removed before installation.

2. Installation

  • Disconnect the ELV wire from the original steering lock unit.

  • Plug the emulator into the same connector.

3. Testing

  • Insert the key into the ignition.

  • Check the LED indicator:

    • Green Light: Connection successful—the car is ready to start.

    • Red Light: Key mismatch or EIS issue.

    • No Light: Inspect power and wiring connections.

 Important Notes

  • VIN Encoding: If you're replacing the ignition with a used unit, ensure the chassis number (VIN) matches. If not, the engine will not start.

  • Faulty Diagnosis: Not all steering issues are due to ESL failure. Always confirm the ESL is the root cause before installation.
