How It Works
1. Preparation
Confirm the issue is with the ESL module. Similar symptoms can also be caused by faulty keys, ignition switches, or relay modules.
If the steering lock is currently engaged, the ESL must be removed before installation.
2. Installation
Disconnect the ELV wire from the original steering lock unit.
Plug the emulator into the same connector.
3. Testing
Insert the key into the ignition.
-
Check the LED indicator:
Green Light: Connection successful—the car is ready to start.
Red Light: Key mismatch or EIS issue.
No Light: Inspect power and wiring connections.
Important Notes
VIN Encoding: If you're replacing the ignition with a used unit, ensure the chassis number (VIN) matches. If not, the engine will not start.
Faulty Diagnosis: Not all steering issues are due to ESL failure. Always confirm the ESL is the root cause before installation.
